Symposiums--SIGCOMM China(Venue : Wanda Realm )

The ACM SIGCOMM China Chapter, approved by ACM China Council and ACM SIGCOMM on May 13th, 2016, is the official representative of ACM SIGCOMM in China. The ACM SIGCOMM China Chapter is a community for Chinese researchers who are interested in network research, network standards, network history, and the educational aspects of networking. ACM SIGCOMM China Chapter aims at establishing a connection between SIGCOMM and Chinese researchers, enhancing the research in the field of data communication around China, and bringing the high-quality activities of SIGCOMM to Chinese researchers.

The 5th ACM SIGCOMM China Symposium, as part of the ACM Turing Celebration Conference - China (ACM TURC 2023). Sponsored by ACM SIGCOMM China Chapter, this symposium solicits original and high-quality papers describing significant and innovative research contributions to the field of computer and data communication networks.

Keynote:Cloud Resource Management for Microservices in Serverless Computing

BIO: Prof. Xu Chengzhong, IEEE Fellow, Chair Professor of the Department of Computer and Information Science, University of Macau. He is currently the Dean of the School of Science and Technology, the Acting Dean of the Collaborative Innovation Research Institute, and the Chief Scientist of the Smart City Key R&D Program of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He used to be a professor of electrical and computer engineering at Wayne State University in the United States, and director of the Digital Institute and Cloud Computing Research Center of Shenzhen Institutes of Advanced Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is a national specially-appointed expert, winner of the 2010 "Overseas Outstanding Youth" of the Natural Science Foundation of China, and the "Guangdong Provincial Leading Talent Program". In addition, he is a member of the National Cloud Computing and Big Data Major Special Project Advisory Committee, a member of the General Expert Group of the Chinese Academy of Sciences' Perceived China Pioneer Special Project, the person in charge of the National Cloud Computing Inspection and Testing Service Platform, director of the Guangdong Cloud Computing Information Security Engineering Laboratory and Shenzhen Director of Beidou Applied Technology Research Center.

Dapeng Wu

Keynote:Pleno-Communication: a New Communication Paradigm in AI Era

BIO: Prof. Wu Dapeng is Yang Jianwen Chair Professor and Chairman of Network Science. He is currently Chair Professor of the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong, and a member of the Complexity Science and Complex Network Research Center. He received his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in 2003. Professor Wu taught at the University of Florida from 2003 to 2022 and served as the director of the National Science Foundation Deep Learning Research Center. His research interests cover artificial intelligence, network science, communication, signal processing, computer vision, smart grid, information and network security, etc. He received the University of Florida Professor of the Year Award in 2017; the University of Florida Research Foundation Professor Award in 2009, and the U.S. Air Force Scientific Research Center Outstanding Young Researcher Award; the U.S. Office of Naval Research Outstanding Young Researcher Award in 2008; Science Foundation Distinguished Young Professor Award, and the 2001 IEEE Transactions on Video Technology Circuits and Systems Best Paper Award. In addition, he also won the Best Paper Award of the 2011 IEEE International Conference on Communications, and the Best Paper Award of the 2006 International Conference on Quality of Service in Heterogeneous Wired/Wireless Networks.

Tian He

Keynote: Operation Optimization of Logistics Network Based on Digital Twin

BIO: Prof. He Tian, Vice President of JD Group, ACM/IEEE Fellow, Head of JD Logistics R&D Technology, Chairman of JD Logistics Technology Committee, Member of the Standing Committee of the Group Technology Committee, and Member of JD Group Strategic Decision-Making Committee. Through technical capabilities such as polymer flow research and development, data products, and intelligent algorithms, JD Logistics has achieved a platform-based, intelligent and ecological technology strategy. Previously, he served as the vice president of Alibaba's local life technology, the president and chief scientist of the local life research institute. Before joining the industry, Professor He Tian served as a tenured full professor in the Department of Computer Science, University of Minnesota. He served as the editorial board member of seven international journals including ACM/IEEE TON, IEEE TC, ACM TOSN, and served as the chairman and program of several conferences. The committee chairsinclude SenSys, the industry's top conference. Published more than 300 papers in top journals and famous international conferences (Google Scholar was cited more than 29,000 times H-Index = 76), including more than 80 IEEE/ACM Trans. series journal papers and more than 100 top computer conference papers . His research has won the best paper awards of seven international conferences (including MobiCom'17, SenSys'17 and ICDCS'18), the US NSF Outstanding Youth Award and the China Foundation for Overseas Outstanding Youth Award. During this period, he cooperated closely with various domestic universities, and served as part-time visiting professors at Southeast University, Peking University, Zhejiang University and Shanghai Jiaotong University.

Xiaohua Jia

Keynote: Secure and Incentivized Data Sharing for Machine Learning in Decentralized Networks

BIO: Prof. Xiaohua Jia received his BS (1984) and MS (1987) degrees from the University of Science and Technology of China, and his MS (1991) degree in Information Science from the University of Tokyo. He is currently a Chair Professor of the Department of Computer Science, City University of Hong Kong. His research interests include cloud computing and distributed systems, data security and privacy, computer networking, and mobile computing. Professor Jia is the editor of IEEE Trans. Computers (2021-present), IEEE Internet of Things (2013-2018), IEEE Trans. Parallel and Distributed Systems (2006-2009), World Wide Web Journal, Journal of Combinatorial Optimization, etc. He is the chair of ACM MobiHoc 2008, TPC co-chair of IEEE GlobeCom 2010 - Ad Hoc and Sensor Networking Symp, area chair of IEEE INFOCOM 2015-2017, track chair of IEEE ICDCS 2019, and chair of ACM ICN 2019. He is a member of IEEE (Institute of Computing Machinery) and a distinguished member of ACM.

Ennan Zhai

Keynote: Towards AI-oriented High Computing Power Data Center Network

BIO: Ennan Zhai is a senior technical expert of Alibaba Cloud and the leader of the network research team. In 2015, he received a Ph.D. from the Department of Computer Science at Yale University, and then served as a research assistant professor and lecturer at Yale University. He joined Alibaba in 2018. His research fields include computer network, distributed system security, program verification, etc. He has published more than 30 papers in top international conferences in these fields, such as SIGCOMM, OSDI, NSDI, VLDB and OOPSLA. Served as a member of the program committees of SIGCOMM, NSDI, ACM SoCC and other top international conferences.
